Unique is the chic. If you are a Penang trend follower, I believe you must have acquainted with I-Square Station. Pssp, I used to name them as mini Amazon because they sell most of the fashion needs. I believe most of the shoppers have encountered box concept shops in shopping malls. Ideas keep booming in Jimmy’s mind and after discussion with best friends cum partners Darren Ooi and Kee Liat, we have decided to transform the box concept to more fashion and accessories enable as we considered larger ladies’ spending power. Also honored to our concept designer Ben Tan, he is the real master mind behind the whole interior design of the shops that have attracted many customers visiting us.

I-square name was derived from the principals of innovation and initiative. I-square enables the entrepreneurs to incubate and showcase their ideas and unique products in a cost effective way. This platform not only satisfies the desire of entrepreneurs’ dream but also stands as a training and practice ground for them to gather more experience and knowledge before entering into real business.

Jimmy shares that good location, responsive management, good interaction with vendors and customers are their theory of success management of their retail. They work hand in hand and resulting in today’s evident achievement. 

They also maintain a periodic weekly sales report to acknowledge the tenants how much they sell and also the stock balance so they can fill up the vacant. This is how they maintain a good relationship with their vendors by keeping in touch with them.    

Since opening till now, their customer continuously visit them and purchase the latest iconic fashion from head to toe. They provide fashion for young to mature. Successfully achieving 100k per month, customer demand is their motivator and reason why they expand their business to Kuala Lumpur.

Princess Diary Fashion Project 03- Interviewing ThreeSixty Fashion Concept

Refine is the word I would describe about ThreeSixty dress. Starting up small in a flea market back in 2007 to a high taste fashion boutique in Publika, Cindy (Pic Below) never stops just like that.

Ranging from party dress, working dress, baju kurung, foldable flats, handmade flats and accessories such as necklace, bracelet and English Style hats, they have it all. The entire textile is specially selected in decent quality combined with remarkable fashion design. Limited design disregarded customer concern of clashing outfit day.

ThreeSixty focus on producing unique style targeting local OL and those who willing to pay for the value. They believe each woman deserve to be inimitable in others impression. They have their own character in fashion sensitivity. Their dress can never be outdated since they are exclusive without following the trend. Each design is time examine, as never get die out in the fashion world.

I love the A shape design and the fabric.

I am absolutely swooning over the color and style of the dress.

Big thanks to the lady behind the boutique- Cindy. She shares challenging story of setting up the boutique, encounter staffing problem and difficult customers. She lives up with her own quote saying “Never say no to your customer.” Appreciate friends and customers who come by and support her. I must say that she is very compassionate, as if they do not have the fashion enquire by the customer; they will always recommended another boutique for it.

Quote by Cindy, “Never say no to customer”, try their best to fulfill their customer needs, if they don’t have specific dress that the customers want, she will redirect her customers to some other retails that she knows.

Princess Diary Fashion Project 02- Find your Wonders in Berry Closet Online Boutique

The name of this boutique is Berry Closet. A dream wakes her up to get Berry Closet launched. All selected stock was inspired mostly by the Thai Fashion. The unique fashion, specially choosing the vibrant top and good mix of fine skirt and shorts accentuate the stylish look.

Berry Closet is online based boutique, and due to their limited ready stock, they always advice the customer to reserve their favorite and make the payment within 3 days. First come, first serve. They provide meet up (in Sabah area) with the customer upon the stock is ready too.

The biggest challenge they faced would be handling Thailand and China wholesaler. They always keep in mind that "Whatever you do, do it with determine and persistence mindset, and remember one day you will success." (Translate from: 要有坚持的心, 做任何事情总有一天会成功 。)

Personally I am grateful to have Berry Closet owner who agrees to be the first one who gives confidence and participate in my Princess Diary Project. I must say their fashion stamp a deep impression of mind. Below is the result of the interview:

What inspired you to launch Berry Closet?

A dream inspires Berry Closet to be launched.

How does the name ‘Berry Closet’ come by?

My boyfriend and I create a brand name BONE KIDZ. Thus, we would like to use “B” as the initial of my boutique name. At the same time, I realize that I fancy peach color, so “BERRY” is the first word comes to my mind. I took the first step and set up Berry Closet.

What do you look for in clothing companies when buying?

First, before I pick up the stock, I will use customer perspective to pick up different style of the fashion clothes. For example, I will ask myself “Will the fashion match the customer demand?”, if the answer is YES. I will always pick them up.

Second, the fashion must be exclusive comparing to other market fashion. Third, the color must be vibrant and attractive. Fourth, the design and style must be the latest one. Fifth, I will pick up 1-3 pieces for every design. This is to avoid some other customer wearing the same clothes as you do.  

What is/are your best seller?

It would be no other than tank top, and crop top also one-piece dress.
